Part-Time Study

In a world of options, we believe that full-time theological study is still the best option. Full-time study involves laying aside other responsibilities for a time to concentrate on growing in the knowledge of God and preparing to love and serve his people. Click here to read about some more benefits of full-time theological study.

However, we understand that for some people the circumstances of life are not conducive to full-time study and so Moore College offers a range of part-time study options at both an undergraduate and postgraduate level. Part-time study is only available for domestic students.

Undergraduate

Degree

The first year only of our degree programs, the Bachelor of Divinity and Bachelor of Theology can be studied part- time.

Diploma

The Diploma of Bible and Missions and Diploma of Bible and Ministry can be completed part-time over a number of years.

Mode of delivery

Part-time students in the degree or diploma programs can choose to enrol in day or night classes or a combination of both. Units offered at night rotate on a three-year timetable. Detailed descriptions and current timetable of all units for part-time study can be found here.

We are committed to studying in the context of community and so students who study part-time are encouraged to attend chapel services and lunch in the dining room on the days they are at College for classes.

Postgraduate

The Master of Arts (Theology) is a coursework masters program that is offered in intensive mode, usually two, three-day blocks per semester. Students can choose to do one or more units per semester and have six years to complete the course.

All classes are held at Newtown and are taught face-to-face.

The Master of Theology is a research masters program that can be undertaken part-time and students have six years to complete the course. It consists of a number of pathways options and requires 25,000-50,000-word thesis.

It is the responsibility of the student to organise regularly meetings with their supervisor.

Moore Distance

The Moore Distance programs are un-accredited courses of study. There are several programs that can be done online, by correspondence or as an evening course. All of these programs are available in part-time mode and can be studied over several years.
